July already! This pregnancy is flying by but somehow the days still seem long!
Today, I put together my favorite birth affirmations that I plan to put up around my labor area, which will probably be my bedroom/bathroom. I’ve seen other mamas do this and I love the idea. All of these affirmations really speak to me and would be just what I would say to myself if I was coaching myself through labor.
I really enjoyed giving birth to my daughter. Don’t get me wrong, it’s hard freaking work but it really is the most rewarding experience of my life. I feel like these affirmation cards will be a lovely reminder of the amazing prize at the end of my labor journey.
These are a mix of reminders to trust my body and the birth process, relax, and honest empowering words. I know that having these surrounding me on d-day (delivery day) will keep me focused and calm. Enjoy!

This affirmation is a reminder that my body was built to give birth. My body is amazing! It knew how to grow a whole new organ to support a growing baby. It knew just how to support that growing little life. There is no reason to believe it doesn’t know how to birth my baby too.
Your body will give birth to your baby with or without your intentional help. Contractions push baby down and out. Some women choose not to push through contractions and let their body do the work. That method isn’t for me, pushing was the most satisfying feeling and such a primal instinct. I choose to listen to my body and my body said push!

I love this one. While you will probably have a team of people around you that are encouraging and supporting you. They probably don’t know what you are going through in those moments. This affirmation gives me strength. Knowing that there are women all over the world who are experiencing all the same emotions and sensations I’m currently feeling empowers me to push through.

Like I said above, these are the words I would say to myself if I were my own birth coach or doula. This is a perfect example of that. After I gave birth to my daughter, I felt like I could conquer the world but that wasn’t before going through the most intense experience. This affirmation will encourage me that I can do this during some of the toughest parts of labor.

Reading this just brings a sense of calm over me. This affirmation is a reminder to relax and trust my body. Fear will stall a labor quick. Trust your body, stay calm, and let go of the fear.

This one is by far my favorite! Birthing a baby is hard work and natural birth does hurt but it is so worth it. This affirmation is totally honest but it’s also incredibly empowering.

Finally, this simple reminder is short and to the point. I like this one because it is so short. During rough contractions, this simple reminder may be all I need to get me focused again. Plus the colors are really pretty and calming.
