Pregnancy is a miracle and beautiful but it’s also damn hard!
Between the exhaustion, nausea, psycho hormones, pain in your feet, crotch, and back, and of course the giant belly that you are carting around; you deserve a little pampering. I’m a firm believer that you should be pampering your pregnant self now more than ever! I think pampering yourself and your bump helps you enjoy those 40 weeks more.
I don’t know about you, but I wanted to get pregnant with this baby so bad and I am so grateful but there are times during pregnancy that I’m freaking miserable. Which then leads to mom guilt. I’ve found that making sure I take the time to pamper myself leads to less frequent feelings of misery and less mom guilt.
Even if you are one of those women who breezes through pregnancy, you are still growing a human, that deserves a little indulging time!
Below, I’ve compiled my favorite ways to pamper my pregnant body and baby bump. Enjoy!
My absolute favorite little indulgence during pregnancy is monthly subscription boxes. I’ve found two that are perfect for pregnancy. Bump Boxes and Bluum boxes.
Bump Boxes are received once a month and it’s like getting a little gift in the mail every month that says “Here is a little gift for creating human life”.
These boxes are tailored to mamas with products that are useful for your trimester. During my first trimester, I received a box of the Preggie Pops Drops just in time for the morning sickness phase. Through Bump Boxes, I also discovered my new favorite pregnancy brand, Glow Organics. Their products are simply wonderful for pampering. The salt soaks are my absolute favorite!
You can also choose your subscription length and all the products you receive are full-size. I hate getting a great product in the mail but only getting half an ounce.

Bluum boxes are another fantastic monthly subscription box. These are geared towards pregnant mamas but continue after baby is born and all the way up to age 5. While pregnant, I love the idea of getting a few products for myself and a few for my upcoming new addition.
These subscription boxes are my favorite way to discover new products and brands for myself and my kiddos. Plus, they are just fun to get every month!
Try bluum! A monthly box of new goodies for parent & baby!
Sophie’s bathroom has the only tube in the house. Luckily, it’s a deep tub, perfect for soaking. So after she goes to bed, I like to turn her bathroom into my own personal spa. That of course means wrangling all the toys first.
You only need a few items to turn a regular (or toddler) bathroom into your own spa room.
I use these:
Vitamin E oil: keeps my skin from drying out and moisturizes
Bath salt soak: I quickly used the salt soaks I received with my Bump Box. So I decided to make my own using some essential oils, dried flowers, sea salts, and Epsom salts. See below for a quick and simple bath salt soak recipe.
Bath bombs: I buy my bath bombs at my local farmers market.
Face mask: I’ve tried a ton of face masks. These are my absolute favorite. They make my skin feel so smooth and refreshed. Plus, you get 15 different kinds in your order.
Here is the simple bath salt soak recipe I use. Combine all ingredients and store in sealed jar:
Dead sea salt: 2 Cups
Epsom salt: 2 Cups
Dried flowers: 1/4 – 1/2 cup of each variety (I used Cornflowers, Marigold, and Rose)
Essential Oils: (Rocky Mountain Oils are my favorite) 10-15 drops of your favorite oil ( I used peppermint)
The final touch is a candle or two!
Turn off the lights, close the door, turn on a TV show or music (I bring my phone or laptop in with me), make a mocktail, and just relax.
My feet have been so sore this pregnancy. I try to go and get a pedicure at least twice a month. My pedicure place has 3 levels of pedicures. Each step up gets you a little more pampering. I love to at least extend my massage. If your nail place doesn’t have as many options, ask for a longer massage. Most places have this as an “off the menu” option.
Prenatal massages are a fantastic option for pampering your pregnancy self. They do tend to be a little more pricey then the other options on my list but worth it if you can swing it! Check out different places to get their introductory rates or check out discount sites like groupon for lower prices.
Keep in mind that most places will do prenatal massage but not all of them has the pregnancy bump table. You want to bump table! Being able to lay on your belly feels like such a weight has been lifted (literally!). The places that don’t have the bump table will have you lay on your side against pillows. It’s not bad, but if you have the option for the bump table, take it!
If going to a massage place isn’t in your budget, ask your partner for a massage. Such a little oil or lotion and make your own bump hole with lots of pillows.
I have loved rubbing my belly with this Belli Elasticity Belly Oil (under soft lighting!). It was another wonderful find in one of my monthly boxes. This oil pumps out like a regular oil but feels like silk on my skin. I usually turn the lights down and take the time to enjoy the miracle that is happening in my belly. Sometimes I talk to my bump too. It’s just a simple way to remind myself that this is probably the last time I’ll get to experience pregnancy and I know I’ll miss it, even just a little bit, at some point.
Reading Birth Affirmations
This is another simple (and free) way to remind myself that there is some pretty amazing things going on in my body right now and they won’t last forever. I put together a list of my favorite birth affirmations that I like to look back on. They make me feel confident, empowered, and inspired.
Take some time to read positive birth affirmations or birth stories throughout your pregnancy to remind yourself that this won’t last forever and what’s going on in your bump is pretty freaking awesome and the tiny little human you get at the end of this journey makes all of this worth it.
This one is still my favorite!
